Culturally Relevant Pedagogy in Dual Enrollment – Often in dual enrollment programs, college teachers are working with high school students for the first time and may not know how to best work with this population. One way to engage all students is culturally responsive teaching, or using cultural knowledge and prior experiences so content is relevant to students. This curriculum provides an overview of what is culturally responsive teaching, why it matters, and how to reflect on existing curriculum to make sure instruction is teaching to and through the strength of students. Curriculum written by previous high school CTE/Science teacher and DE instructor Amal Amanda Issa.
Dual Enrollment Professional Development – In response to the need to support the dual enrollment field with professional development, the K14 TAPs and Career Ladders Project partnered to develop workshops, information sheets and other resources to build and manage dual enrollment in the state of California. Resource topics include creating partnerships, laws and regulations, supporting special populations, and working with adolescents.
Open Educational Resources + Dual Enrollment – This practice brief provides guidance to help K12 and community college dual enrollment program instructors and administrators identify and implement programs using open educational resources (OERs). The brief includes an interview with Dr. Barbara Illowsky, Professor of Mathematics & Statistics, De Anza College & OER & Innovation Fellow, The Michelson 20MM Foundation.

Bay Region Articulation Handbook – A guidebook on Bay Region best practices for implementing and awarding articulated credits for high school students.
In May, the Southwest Bay Counselor Collaborative Network partnered with the Monterey Bay Economic Partnership (MBEP) to host the Industry-Education Counselor Summit for over 85 attendees. The summit featured two key note speakers, an industry panel, student success stories, and information on teaching networking to students. Materials from the summit: article, video of industry panel, program, and powerpoint.
Career Education Advertising/Recruiting Video – The Southwest Bay Counselor Collaborative Network created a video featuring a student talking about the benefits of career education programs at the community college. Counselors and student support staff can use this video as a tool to recruit students and increase awareness of how career education can prepare them for high demand, high wage jobs.

“College for Kids” Programming Implementation Guide – Many Colleges around the Bay Area are looking to engage students at a young age through their summer enrichment programming. The K14 TAPs interviewed many “college for kids” programs around the Bay Area to create this implementation guide.
Earn & Learn Overview – Lessons learned from Earn & Learn East Bay, a cross-system, cross-institution alignment strategy around industry engagement for Work-Based Learning.
K14 Pathways CTE Transitions Data (link coming soon) – Created data profiles for Bay Region Colleges showing their K12 transitions data, based on K14 CTE Pathway data tool in Launchboard, in collaboration with the Bay Region Center of Excellence.
Early College Credit Report – This report synthesizes key trends in dual enrollment and articulation in the Bay Region.

Joint the Dual Enrollment Exchange – This community of practice consists of dual enrollment practitioners from both high schools and community colleges discussing best practices for implementing early college credit programming.
